Hafnium Carbide (HfC) Sputtering Targets

Hafnium carbide, HfC, which has one of the highest melting points for binary compounds, reaching 3928 °C (4200 K). 

HfC also has high hardness (26 GPa), high modulus of elasticity (350–510 GPa), and good thermal conductivity (20.0 W/m·K).    

Applications of Hafnium Carbide

1. Aerospace field

Hafnium carbide has excellent mechanical properties and high-temperature stability.

So it is widely used in the aerospace field. It can be used in the manufacture of jet engine blades, 

rocket engine combustion chambers, spacecraft thermal protection systems, etc.

2. Energy field

Hafnium carbide has excellent thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance.

It can be used in the manufacture of solar panels, coolants for nuclear reactors, electrolytes for fuel cells, etc.

3. Electronics field

Hafnium carbide has good electrical conductivity and high temperature stability. 

It can be used in the manufacture of semiconductor devices, integrated circuits, transistors, etc.
