focused on their improved optical and electrical properties, particularly in optoelectronic applications such as solar cells,
light-emitting diodes, and photodetectors, demonstrating their potential to advance renewable energy technologies and
electronic devices. Copper oxide (CuO) and cuprous oxide (Cu2O) are two important phases with distinct band gaps.
The p-type semiconductor Cu2O, which has a straight bandgap between 2.0 and 2.4 eV, is well suited for its function
as an absorber layer in solar energy cells, while CuO, with a band gap between 1.9 eV and 2.1 eV, is more suitable
for energy harvesting and sensing.
