Cobalt Sputtering Targets are ferromagnetic thin films.
Hard and brittle, cobalt metal is permanently magnetic, similar to iron and nickel in terms of hardness, tensile strength, machinability, thermomechanical properties and electrochemical behaviour, and its magnetism disappears when heated to 1150°C. High purity metallic cobalt is an important material for the preparation of magnetic recording media, magnetic recording heads, optoelectronic devices and components such as magnetic sensors and integrated circuits. It can also be used as a semiconductor thin film material.
